Hard Bone Inclusion Abnormal Sound Detection System
Detect abnormal sounds during meat sliding to prevent the mixing of hard bones!
This document introduces examples of measurement systems that determine the presence of hard bone contamination in meat products. In many meat processing centers, all meat is inspected using soft X-rays to check for the presence of bone fragments. However, if bone fragments are embedded within fat, they cannot be distinguished. Our analysis shows that when bone fragments are sliced with a meat slicer, a specific frequency range (sound/vibration) changes. By attaching a vibration sensor to the bearing section of the rotating blade, we can capture this slight change in vibration and determine the presence of bone fragments through FFT 1/3 octave analysis.
